As Anti has failed to get our state government to pass anti-smoking measures, they have been hard-focusing on county and city governments across the state.

- Scroll down for Listing -

Fueled by federal grants and the usual national anti-smoking group and pharmaceutical donations, local anti-smoking groups - with the help of some local anti-smoking politicians - have been going “door to door” so to speak to various local city and county governments with presentations, lobbying and, I’d guess, “donations” to try and convince them to pass bans. It’s organized and well funded and is having some success.

The only thing standing in their way are local politicians who are genuinely concerned with individual liberty, private property freedom and common sense  - and your voice and vote.

Below is, as best as I can assemble it, a listing by City and County of past and present anti-smoking actions by these councils and who was guilty of supporting these measures. It is up to you to make your voice heard and to vote out these villains of liberty in the next local election (keep in mind that local elections sometimes happen at odd times of the year).

For areas where a ban hasn’t passed - you have the opportunity to help ensure that it doesn’t in the future. For areas where a ban has passed, you have the opportunity to punish those who did it - and possibly reverse it in the future and scare other would-be-banners from voting that way.
